Practicing What I Preach: Radio Silence and the End-of-Semester Crunch

Hey everyone. I know the blog has been a little unusually quiet this week. Normally, I like to keep a steady rhythm here, but over the last few days, the analog world completely hijacked the digital one.

If you have looked at a calendar lately, you know it is May 1st. That means we have officially entered the end-of-semester survival mode. Between the massive reading loads, drafting final papers for my English and Comp Lit classes, and trying to keep the wheels turning on social media, the hours in the day simply evaporated this week. Something had to give, and unfortunately, it was my posting schedule.

I wanted to drop a quick note today to apologize for the radio silence, but also to keep it entirely real with you guys.

Taking My Own Advice

A little over a week ago, I wrote a post right here on the blog about the concept of the “micro-win.” I talked about how, when you are dangerously close to burnout, you have to drop the “all or nothing” mindset. You have to give yourself permission to step back, lower the bar, and just keep your head above water without worrying about perfection.

Well, consider this week a live demonstration of practicing what I preach.

I could have stayed up until 3:00 AM forcing out a half-hearted blog post just to satisfy the algorithm, but that goes against everything I’ve been talking about lately. The reality is that building the Starr-Verse, writing the next chapters of The Sterling Cross Files, and staying physically active requires actual, sustainable energy. When the real-world responsibilities stack up, hitting the pause button on social media isn’t a failure—it’s a requirement.

What’s Next

The good news is that the semester is almost at the finish line. Once these final deadlines are cleared, I am diving headfirst back into the creative pipeline. I have some exciting updates coming for The Sterling Cross Files, a few new drops for the merch store that I can’t wait to show you, and plenty more lifestyle content lined up.

Thank you to all the Starr-Gazers for being the most patient, supportive community on the internet. I appreciate you letting me take a few days to just be a student and get my life in order.

How is everyone else holding up as we head into May? Are you surviving the spring chaos, or are you running on fumes and iced coffee? Let me know in the comments, and have an amazing weekend!
