Daily Note: The Family we Choose

I’m writing this while the house still smells like sage and roasted turkey.

There is a specific kind of quiet that settles in after a big meal. It’s a comfortable silence.
Looking around the table today, I realized something: Biology is an accident of birth. Family is a deliberate choice.

I know the holidays can be complicated. I know that for some of you, today is heavy. You might be missing someone, or grieving a relationship that didn’t work out, or feeling out of place at your own dinner table.

But I wanted to remind you that you have the power to build your own table.

My Daily Spark
🦃 Mood: Stuffed. (Regretting that second slice of pie? Never.)
🔋 Social Battery: 40% (I love people, but I need a nap).
🎧 Listening to: The sound of people laughing in the other room.

The Message for Today: Found Family

“Thriving” on a holiday doesn’t mean having a Hallmark movie life.

It means recognizing the love that is present, even if it looks different than you expected.
Maybe your family is the group chat that checks on you every morning. Maybe it’s the gym partner who spots you on heavy days. Maybe it’s the friends who drove two hours just to eat dry turkey with you.

That bond—the one built on loyalty, shared values, and mutual respect—is sacred.
So if you are with your “Found Family” today, hold them close. And if you are spending today alone, know that you are part of this community. You have a seat at our table.
A Holiday Note

Eat some pie for me,
Zachary
